Christmas is coming at a sprint! I have been sewing day and night. I completed a cute little vest-jacket and scarf for Braelynn. I completed Braelynn's "Hot Air Balloon" quilt. Made it in a class taught by my Friend, Sally. It is too cute, she will love it! I have posted pictures of all the projects. On the left is the vest-jacket and scarf, on top is pictures of the quilt I am doing embroidery on and the one I just finished quilting, with a closeup to see the hand quilted pattern...I call it "flower power". I wanted a hand-drawn look like a child drew flowers and vines. I think I got it and once I wash the quilt those flowers will jump out at you. I am pleased. I hope my daughter who is getting it for Christmas is just as pleased..it's her favorite colors and the flower power has a special meaning to her.
I love to sew! I sew for my beautiful granddaughter, Braelynn. I am a crafter - I sew , knit, quilt, paint...whatever comes around! I love to do thread painting ( learned to do that at Sulky Teacher Training). I teach beginner sewing classes to children AND adults. This is very rewarding! I also do quilting workshops. Now we havin' fun!

Fabric cover notebooks
My son was recently invited to a birthday party for 2 girls turning 14. What do you give 14 year old girls? Fabric covered notebooks! Of course they must be personalized, and have something that interest them on the cover. These girls, like my son, belong to the Anime Club at school. I used this as my inspiration. The girls loved them (according to my son). These are reversible and were easy to make from fabric fat quarters.
Sewing!
I have been sewing up a storm! A new quilt shop opened up in my neighborhood (lucky me!).It is called The Quilt Cupboard. I ventured in 2 months ago and I was hooked! I signed up for a machine quilting class. I had never pieced a quilt by machine before, only by hand. Since then I have completed 4 quilt tops. One is waiting in the wings while I hand quilt one, embellish anther with silk embroidery, and machine quilt one. I also have a Christmas table topper started (it will be a gift for a friend ...shhh!). I am having so much fun! I will post pictures of my work, although it is still in progress. It will be fun to later on look back at the process. Hopefully it won't take me too long to complete them.

INSPIRARTION!?!
Where does inspiration come from for you? For me it comes in waves, from a book, a movie, a song, a comment from a friend or just someone standing in line behind me at Wal Mart. You just never know what will inspire you. I think I'll go look for a little inspiration now. I'll find mine, and you find yours . Let me know how it goes. I know I will.

This is a section of the 1st Christmas Stocking I made using the traditional crazy quilt method. It's does by hand from start to finish. It takes many many hours to make one of these. To date I have completed three large stocking and one mini stocking. Considering they take on an average of 100 hours each to complete, I reserve them for VERY Special people. So far each one is unique. This one has a prominent Christmas Tree. Others had a Santa face with full beard and a Madonna and Child. I currently have one in the works, but I'm not to the embroidery stage yet.
Here we go!!
This blog is under construction. I will be adding photos and lots of information this week. Please check back often to see what's up.
